The Wounds in a Box® series offers cost effective, compact solutions for skills training. Easy to transport, yet rugged enough for classroom or field use.
The IO IN A BOX™ is a portable task trainer perfect for training students in Interosseous fluid administration using the proximal tibia administration site. Skin and bone density give students a realistic feedback while using an either a manual or powered IO insertion. Comes with replacement landmark/target panels. This product is not recommended for spring loaded IO systems.
Construction
The representative skin and tissue of the IO IN A BOX™ is constructed of high quality silicone rubber, with layers of coloration that provide a depth and realism to the product. The PATENTED construction with SOFTTECH® and ROCKTECH® materials a realistic feel, and is very durable and UV resistant.
Operation
The task trainer is contained in its own storage case. Remove the extra bone inserts from inside the box before use. Stabilize device during use. Apply pressure to penetrate the skin and advance the tool into the bone insert. Replace bone inserts as needed.
Maintenance
The device should be rinsed in clean, warm water and allowed to dry before storage. The simulation may be removed from the storage case for cleaning. The device may be washed with mild detergents like dish soap. Allow the device to dry fully before storage to prevent mold or mildew growth.
