Scalable Mechanical Advantage System - Heavy (SMAS-H) Kit
- Built with innate requisite diversity (mindful redundancy) for reliability in varied environmental pathology
- Maintains high system efficiency
- Simple, rapid, and adaptable rigging configurations
- Developed and tested within Mobility, Vehicle Recovery, Subterranean, Confined Space, CBRN, Recovery, and Large Animal movement, stabilization, and rescue environments
The Scalable Mechanical Advantage System - Heavy was designed out of necessity for specialized heavy rigging situations where variable heavy hauling requirements exist and are constrained by limited amount of personnel. The SMAS-H kit is utilized for multiple operational mission sets from austere / remote vehicle recovery to heavy lifting in confined space, subterranean, and tunnel / mine environments. The SMAS-H is engineered on the NAR iMAS chassis, but takes your mechanical advantage, lifting, and versatility capabilities up exponentially. The SMAS-H can be configured from a 3:1 up to a 23:1 utilizing simple techniques and minimal equipment. Efficiency, simplicity, and safety were the driving factors throughout the design process, recognizing the typical system complexity, rigging errors, and loss of efficiency associated with traditional systems.
